(PC/PBT) - (PC/ABS)
PC/PBT Alloy
PC/PBT is a high-performance thermoplastic alloy that combines amorphous polycarbonate (PC) with semi-crystalline polyesters like PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate) or PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate).
This blend offers an ideal balance of toughness, chemical resistance, and thermal stability, making it suitable for demanding engineering applications.
While polycarbonate is known for its excellent impact strength, rigidity, and heat resistance, it lacks strong resistance to organic chemicals. On the other hand, polyesters like PBT and PET offer superior chemical resistance and dimensional stability, though they have higher shrinkage and lower notched impact strength.

By blending PC with PBT or PET, our compounding technology creates polymer alloys that enhance strengths and minimise weaknesses. These PC/PBT compounds deliver improved performance across a variety of parameters, including:
Enhanced chemical resistance
Improved impact strength
Moderated shrinkage and specific gravity
Better dimensional and thermal stability
We further customize these alloys with additives for specific requirements:
Impact modifiers for low-temperature toughness
Flame retardants for UL 94 V-0 ratings
Glass fibers for high flexural strength
UV and thermal stabilizers for outdoor and high-heat performance
Colorants to meet exact color and performance specs
Our PC/PBT blends are ideal for automotive, electrical & electronics, industrial, and consumer applications requiring a combination of mechanical durability and chemical resilience.
PC/ABS Alloy
PC/ABS (Polycarbonate/Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is a thermoplastic alloy that combines the toughness and heat resistance of polycarbonate (PC) with the superior impact resistance and easy processability of ABS.
This engineered blend offers a well-balanced property profile, making it ideal for demanding applications in automotive, electronics, consumer products, and 3D printing.
Our compounding capabilities allow us to tailor PC/ABS blends that maximise the strengths of both materials while minimising their individual limitations. These alloys deliver high strength, excellent surface finish, and good dimensional stability, even in low-temperature environments.

Key Advantages of PC/ABS Alloys
Mechanical Strength & Durability: Improved tensile and impact strength, making it suitable for rugged applications.
Thermal Resistance: Higher heat resistance than standard ABS allows for use in elevated temperature environments.
Processability: Maintains the easy moldability of ABS, reducing manufacturing complexity.
Chemical Resistance: Resistant to many oils, greases, and weak acids—suitable for electronic and automotive use.
Flame Retardancy & UV Stability: Can be customized with additives like flame retardants or UV stabilizers based on application needs.
Aesthetic Versatility: Excellent surface quality and colorability make it suitable for visible components.
Application Areas
PC/ABS alloys are widely used in:
Automotive Interiors – dashboards, trims, and structural components
Electronic Enclosures – device housings, connectors, and internal mounts
Consumer Goods – home appliances, tool casings, and healthcare equipment
Additive Manufacturing – functional 3D-printed parts requiring strength and heat resistance
By adjusting the PC-to-ABS ratio and incorporating reinforcements or stabilizers, we offer tailored PC/ABS solutions that meet specific mechanical, thermal, and regulatory requirements. This alloy remains a cost-effective, high-performance material for a wide range of industries.
